Safety Alert
In 2005, there were 214 traffic related injuries at District schools. Because of the upsurge in student injuries related to traffic incidents, the following safety tips are being re-issued to ensure the safe passage of students, parents and staff.

Kids and Bicycle Safety
California State Law requires all children ages 17 and under to wear a safety helmet whenever riding a bicycle, scooter, rollerblades and skateboard.

New Rule: Shots Before School
All 7th through 12th graders are now required to get a whooping cough shot BEFORE starting the 2011-2012 school year.

New Criteria for 8th Grade Culmination
Changes in the LAUSD District requirements for eligibility to participate in 8th grade culmination/"graduation" are being given to parents, students and teachers.
