2023-24 MAGNET APPLICATION TIMELINE

from Oct. 2022 - Sept. 2023 

• October: CHOICES Brochure mailed to homes
• Oct. 3 - Nov. 18:  On-time Application is Open
• December/January:   On-time applicants receive an email to          review/correct their applications. 
• January 9 - 27: Schools verify students applying to Gifted Magnets
• February 1: Late Application Window Opens
• March: Acceptance letters are emailed to parents
  • Parents MUST ACCEPT placement
• February - early September: Verifications for unidentified Gifted   students are on going.

ALL students must apply to attend ANY Magnet 

• Parents MUST submit an application through Unified Enrollment
• Parents of GIFTED students desiring to enroll in a GIFTED magnet program, MUST APPLY to that school.
  • STUDENTS are NOT AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED
• If applying to a Gifted Magnet students MUST meet one of the Specific Eligibility Criteria below:
  • Identified Gifted 
  • Received Standard Exceeded in SBAC
  • Meet ALL 4 Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Skills
    • Verified by current school teacher or administrator
• LATE Applications will be processed on a first come basis
  • Students may be WAITLISTED
