8th Grade Council
8th Grade Council is a leadership development class whose primary focus is to plan, create, and execute all the 8th grade class year activities. Some of these activities include, but are not limited to, forming class name, class mascot, class motto, class colors, 8th grade dances, fund raisers, community services, gathering Year Book personalities categories, 8th Ice Skating trip, 8th Grade Picnic, 8th Grade Formal, Grad Night, and Graduation.

Students are expected to respect each other’s ideas, participate in all activities, assign council duties and responsibilities and work collaboratively on projects. There is one council representing each 8th grade homeroom.

Application Process

At the end of the 7th grade, students are encouraged to apply for 8th Grade Council by filling out an application with all of their final grades and teacher’s signatures. In some cases a student can be recommended by a teacher for a unique leadership quality they have demonstrated or posses in their respective classroom.
